Sunday Night Special

For those of you who are wondering how this machine works and what it is capable of, tonight's dinner is the perfect example of how the Thermie can cater for a family and make you look like a super chef!

Our Corned Beef was cooked in the Varoma (steamer) with vegetables and I made an amazing white sauce.  I just followed this recipe exactly!

The jug was filled with vegetables and made a stock which then heated to generate the steam to cook the piece of Corned Beef and veges.  The husband said he would pay good money at a restaurant for my creation and all three kids didn't fuss over the tender meat or sauce.  The Big Guy had two serves and the 1.5kg piece of meat was more than enough to feed us.  There are even a few pieces left over which the husband has claimed for his lunch tomorrow.

In under 1 1/2 hours from start to finish, dinner was made and there was no need to watch the Corned Beef boil as the timer function on the Thermie let me know when I needed to do the next step.  So simple.

Plus, it was a low carb and low fat meal too. Carbs - 6.40g  Protein - 32.05g   Fat - 4.52g (without the sauce)

Happy cooking,

Jen X
